Jimmy William Woodward, 78 of Madison, passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at his home. He was born on September 17, 1946 to the late James William Woodward and Eva Lee Lamb Woodward. He was also preceded in death by his sons, James Anthony Woodward and William Kevin Woodward; and sister, Betty Woodward Taylor. Jimmy was a graduate of Madison County High School. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Shirley Jean Taylor Woodward; daughter, Lisa Carol Alderton of Madison; son, Troy James Woodward of Stanardsville; brothers, Mike Woodward and wife Denise, Ted Woodward and wife Lois, Donnie Woodward, all of Madison; sisters, Mary Ann Powell and husband Merle of Stanardsville, Peggy Eskew and husband Joe of Pilot Mountain, Va., Judy Creech and husband Randy of S. C., Delores Coppedge and husband Wayne of Madison, Gail Hinkle and husband Sam of Louisa; grandchildren, Leslie Cook and husband Jesse of Brightwood, Nathan Alderton of Madison, Austin Woodward of Greene Co.; great-grandchildren, Morgan Cook, Parker Cook, Cayson Cook, all of Brightwood. Robin L. Moon went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. She was 67 years young. Born on December 2, 1957, in Louisa, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Normal Whitelaw Lloyd, Sr. and Mary Webb Lloyd. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Normal W. Lloyd Jr.; her sister-in-law Elizabeth Lohr; and her brother-in-law Roger Moon, Sr. She loved all of them dearly. Robin was known for her unwavering and unconditional love for her family. After graduating from Orange County High School, she married her middle school sweetheart, Walter Moon. Robin was incredibly dedicated to her work at State Farm, working there for 43 years. In addition to her work, Robin was a leader at her church, Blue Run Baptist Church, serving in many ways, from her women’s group to leading Bible Schools. Robin was committed to everything she did, and did it with pure love and joy. Robin is survived by her husband of 48 years, Walter Moon; her daughter, April Moon; close family friend, Tony Pendleton; her sister, Ann Dabney; her sister-in-law, Anna Stanley; and many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Robin’s memory to Blue Run Baptist Church. Rev. Charles E Beahm, 95 of Frederick, Md. formally of Rochelle, Va., passed away peacefully on Saturday April 19 h 2025 at home in Frederick Maryland. He was born on December 25 th 1929 to the late John Beahm and Rosa Corbin Beahm. He was preceded in death by his wife Ethel May Geyer Beahm, son Douglas Beahm and numerous siblings and one great grandchild. He is survived by daughter Denise Ingraham; sons, Donald Beahm, David Beahm, Dale Beahm; sisters Mabel Clore and Gladys Nicholson, eleven grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM on Sunday May 4th at Preddy Funeral Home in Madison, Va. conducted by Pastor Baker Rigg. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Madison. The family will receive friends before the service, from 12:00 to 1:30 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Memory of Charles E. On April 19, 2025, Bruce Patrick Dodd peacefully left us to join his Mother, brother, and all of his beloved pets. Bruce was a Chief Warrant Officer at age 19 in Viet Nam, and when he came home, he continued to fly helicopters for the next 15 years. Later he worked at Kloekner Pentaplast from where he retired. He loved sitting outside his home with his family and pets, enjoying the beauty and sounds of nature. He is survived by his wife Kitty, daughter Nikki, sister-in-laws Toni & Pam, along with nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews. Donations in Bruce’s memory may be given to Tunnel to Towers Foundation or an animal rescue organization of your choice.

Forrest Lee Elliott, Jr., 82, of Gordonsville, Virginia, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2025. Born in Newport News, Virginia, Forrest lived a full and meaningful life defined by hard work, fishing, love of family and travel, and of course his long time relationship with God. After his time in the Navy, he worked nearly 25 years at Phillip Morris before retiring in Danville, Virginia. Forrest found great joy exploring the country in his RV, always eager for the next scenic stop or active fishing hole. When he later met the love of his life, Penny Breeden, he settled in Gordonsville, Virginia, and they built a life filled with unconditional love. He also enjoyed the love and relationships with many step-children and grandchildren, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, and countless extended family members. He was known for his overflowing breakfasts of pancakes, bacon and sausage, no matter the crowd or location. This simple act, full of love and togetherness, are treasured memories for his step-grandkids who adored him. He loved to reminisce about taking his stepdaughter, Elizabeth, on a fishing trip off Lake Erie and teaching his Minnesota grandkids how to fish. The Deutsch grandkids loved walks and beach trips with PopPop, and searching out his treats in the house. A proud Navy veteran, Forrest was often seen around town wearing his Navy hat with a USS-242 Bluegill submarine emblem, engaging nearly any passers by. Forrest was preceded in death by the two men he loved most: his son Clifton Elliott & his grandson James Elliott. Forrest is survived by his beloved wife, Penny J. Breeden, his many adored stepchildren and step-grandchildren, his cherished granddaughter Ella Daniels and her mother Sherry, both of Tucson, Arizona. All of whom held a special place in his heart. Forrest will be remembered for his heart for God, for people and his nation, his pride of family history, and the countless memories made with those closest to him. Quentin Theodore Rudolph, 94, passed away at his home in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, on Wednesday March 12, 2025. Quentin was born December 6, 1930, in West Chester, Pennsylvania, to the late Joseph and Katherine Rudolph. Formerly of Unionville Virginia, Quentin is survived by his children Katie Wilson (Doyle), Karen Nastelli (John), four grandchildren John Nastelli (Andrea), Sarah Kidd (Jeff), Alison Adkins (Larry), and Shaun Wilson (Tommy), along with nine beloved great grandchildren. Along with his parents, Quentin was preceded in death by his cherished wife of 65 years, Genelle McMurray Rudolph, and brother Harold Rudolph. After his high school graduation, Quentin joined the Navy and during that time that he met and married Genelle. After the Navy, he had the opportunity to work for Transcontinental Gas, moving up through the ranks to Division Manager. He and Genelle enjoyed traveling and had a great love for ballroom dancing. Quentin also had many hobbies; he became a private pilot at the Orange County Airport, and during his retirement years he enjoyed golfing with his friends. The true light of Quentin's life was his family. A celebration of life service will be Friday May 9, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at the Preddy Funeral Chapel, Orange, 250 West Main Street, Orange, Va. 22960. John Clennon Rogers May 30, 1945 – April 19, 2025 John Clennon Rogers, 79, of Orange, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at his home. Born in Montgomery, Maryland, on May 30, 1945, Johnny was the son of the late Joe Clennon Rogers and Margie Adaline Stubbs Rogers Nash. Johnny's life was marked by his hard work, dedication, and love for his family and community. He spent his early years as a cattle farmer at his grandfather’s farm, Hazelhurst, in Somerset, Virginia. Over the years, he built a successful career as a truck driver and backhoe operator, working with companies like Webster Brick, Orange Steel and Roofing, and later, running his own horse hauling business, Virginia Equine Transport. He was a proud member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Kensington, Maryland, and held memberships with the Gordonsville Grays SCV Camp #2301 and the Virginia Beef Cattle Improvement Association. Outside of his work, Johnny had a deep passion for the outdoors. He loved hunting with his fox hounds, trout fishing, and attending races at the Richmond Raceway. He was also an avid Harley Davidson enthusiast, enjoying the freedom of the open road. However, Johnny’s greatest joy came from spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He often said that the best years of his life were those spent raising his daughters, and he was known for his patience, kindness, and unwavering love. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Wilber Desales Stubbs, and grandmother, Mary Adeline Hurdle Stubbs; his father, Joe Clennon Rogers, and mother, Margie Adaline Stubbs Rogers; brother, Clayton Nash, and sisters, Margie Sue Rogers, Jo Ellen Rogers Hurdle, Toni Nash: and grandson, Blain Riner. He is survived by a wife, Lynn Jones Rogers; daughters Lisa A Ramey, Alicia Rogers Carrico, Laurie Rogers Brown, Julie Rogers, Adrienne Rogers, Carla S. Wright, and Nan S. Dix; sons John M. Luthi and Gary R. Melvin E. Williams, “Sleepy Joe”, 68 of Charlottesville, Va. went home to be with the Lord, peacefully on Thursday, April 17, 2025 at Monroe Health and Rehab., where he has resided for almost 5 years. Melvin was born on February 18, 1957 in Washington, D. C, the 4th of 11 children and the first son of the late Mittie Graves Williams and Stark A. Williams, Jr. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Marvin and C. Andrew Williams; sisters, Lois W. Brock and infant sister, Doris D. Williams; his maternal and paternal grandparents; a special friend, Anne Horne. He is survived by his sisters, Deacon Caroly Harris (Aubrey) of Charlottesville, Va, Vivian Frye and Helen Early, both of Stanardsville, Va., Gwendolyn Williams of Charlottesville, Wanda Dillard (Greg) of Stanardsville; brother, Kenneth Williams of Ruckersville, Va.; four aunts; two uncles; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Melvin was a faithful member of Shiloh Baptist Church, Stanardsville, Va., where he attended until his health declined. He was employed with Settle Tires for over 30 years as a mechanic and shuttle driver. Thank you to Melvin’s care team at Monroe, Dr. Evans and Les Barker, N. P. and all the nurses on the 3rd floor. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at 11:00 am at Shiloh Baptist Church, Stanardsville, Va. with Rev. Dr. Harrison L. Matthew D. Ferko Jr., age 31, of Charlottesville, VA passed away on April 14, 2025. Born on February 10, 1994, Matthew was known for his caring and fun-loving personality. He was a supportive friend with a contagious smile, and always ready with a joke to make others laugh. Matthew is survived by his mother Kim (Tony) Gentry; stepmother Hayley Ferko; grandmothers, Joan Ferko and Lavenia Waller; sister, Rena (Brandan) Stitt; brother, Robert Ferko; step siblings Amber and Cory Gentry; four nieces and two nephews; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Matthew Ferko Sr.; grandfathers Donald Ferko Sr. and Paul Wingfield; grandmother Edna Gentry; uncle Ricky Wingfield; and cousin Michael Bolen. An avid sports fan and participant, Matthew dedicated much of his free time to playing and following various sports. He also focused significantly on his sobriety, a journey that inspired many around him. His commitment to making others laugh and his dedication to his personal growth were hallmarks of his character. Visitation will be held on April 24, 2025 from 1-2 PM with services beginning at 2 PM at Preddy Funeral Home in Gordonsville, VA. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Narcotics Anonymous, honoring Matthew's dedication to his sobriety and support for others on similar paths.

Kerry Ryder Abbott, 71, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2025 at her home in Troy, VA She was born October 9, 1953 to the late Earl & Helen Ryder, Sr. of Gordonsville, VA. She is survived by her husband, James “Mike” Abbott of Scottsville; a sister, Peggy Ryder Lawson (Bill) of Ruckersville; a brother, Earl “E.H.” Ryder, Jr. (Cindy) of Gordonsville; a step-son, Michael “Tony” Abbott (Carol Anne) of Lake Monticello; Four grandsons: Cody, Camden, Cegan & Chandler; several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. Kerry loved life, her family and her friends. She loved being outside whether it was working in her yard, walking Monticello Trail, or sitting on her deck drinking hot tea and watching the birds. Kerry courageously fought cancer the same way she lived life, with a smile on her face. The family would like to thank all who helped take care of her in her final days.
