Jimmy William Woodward, 78 of Madison, passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at his home. He was born on September 17, 1946 to the late James William Woodward and Eva Lee Lamb Woodward. He was also preceded in death by his sons, James Anthony Woodward and William Kevin Woodward; and sister, Betty Woodward Taylor.
Jimmy was a graduate of Madison County High School.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Shirley Jean Taylor Woodward; daughter, Lisa Carol Alderton of Madison; son, Troy James Woodward of Stanardsville; brothers, Mike Woodward and wife Denise, Ted Woodward and wife Lois, Donnie Woodward, all of Madison; sisters, Mary Ann Powell and husband Merle of Stanardsville, Peggy Eskew and husband Joe of Pilot Mountain, Va., Judy Creech and husband Randy of S. C., Delores Coppedge and husband Wayne of Madison, Gail Hinkle and husband Sam of Louisa; grandchildren, Leslie Cook and husband Jesse of Brightwood, Nathan Alderton of Madison, Austin Woodward of Greene Co.; great-grandchildren, Morgan Cook, Parker Cook, Cayson Cook, all of Brightwood.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at Rose Park Cemetery with Pastor Jeff Shifflett officiating.
