Vernie Pearl Shifflett 89 of Stanardsville, Virginia; passed

away Saturday, November 30, 2024 at her home. She was

born August 24, 1935 in Rockingham County and was the

daughter of the late Walter Leak Shifflett and Lillie Bell

Shifflett.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Hobert Scott

Shifflett; daughter, Anna Mae Pullen; sister Pauline Shifflett;

brothers, Clarence, Journey, Onnie and Kemper Shifflett; and

Brian Morris who was like a grandson.

She is survived by her daughter Shirley S. Hensley and

husband Marvin; grandson Michael Scott Pullen and Whitnie

Flavell, great-granddaughter, Jasmine A. Pullen; Billy Boggs who is like

a grandson, and former son in law; David M. Pullen and wife

Linda. Also, a sister by love, Tessie Conley, and neighbors

Lois Conley and James Meadows.

Vernie was of the Pentecostal faith.

The family would like to thank Dr. John McGovern and his

staff for all their help and support over the many years during

her time of illness. They would also like to give thanks to Medi

Home Hospice, especially Wanda Shifflett and Karen

Marshall. We would like to thank all the caregivers for their

help, support, and their compassion they showed through

these last fourteen years.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Thursday, December

5, 2024 at Preddy Funeral Home in Madison with Pastor Phillip Knight officiating; friends and family are welcome at 10am for visitation. Burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Dyke, Virginia.
