Sallie Lundstrom Barber, 68, of Constitution Hwy, Orange died at her residence on Wednesday, August 18, 2021. Sallie was born July 15, 1953 in Hampton and was the daughter of the late Reginald Rowe Lundstrom and Elizabeth Eleanor Foutz Lundstrom.
Sallie was a retired teacher in the Orange County School System for 34 years retiring in 2011. A member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Orange, volunteered for the Special Olympics, a member of the T.A.C.O. riding camp, also the Legislative Trail Riders, and volunteered at the Food Pantry. Sallie had a love for all animals especially horses and lived a life of service and giving to others.
Sallie is survived by her husband Craig Munson Barber of Orange; a daughter Amber Barber Thomas and husband Jeremy; a son Bryan Kenric Barber and wife Caren; four grandchildren Logan Reed Windley, Ayden John Barber, Kaleb Maury Barber, and Evelyn Marilee Thomas; one sister Alice Lundstrom Hall and husband David; and three nephews Clint Hall, Matt Hall, and Zach Hall.
A memorial funeral service will be held on Monday, August 23, 2021 at 11:00 A.M.at the Trinity United Methodist Church, Orange. There will be a visitation at Trinity UMC one hour prior to the memorial service. Rev. Josh Munnikhuysen will officiate. The family request those attending please wear a mask and social distance. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Piedmont, Alzheimers Association, or the Orange County Food Pantry. Preddy Funeral Home of Orange is assisting the family.
