Russell Everette Marks, 83 of Louisa, passed away on Friday, December 16, 2022, at UVA Hospital.  Born on December 24, 1938, in Louisa, he was the son of the late William Henry Marks and Gertrude Smith Marks. 

Russell was employed by Louisa Feed Service, was a self-employed plumber and electrician and retired from Louisa County Public Schools.  Russell also served on the Louisa County Board of Building Appeals and Louisa County Planning Commission.  He was a member of Berea Baptist Church. 

 Preceding him in death was his wife of 63 years Brenda Lloyd Marks; his daughter Janice Marks Humphrey; five brothers-in-law, Warren A. Lloyd, Robert E. Lloyd, John W. “Jake” Lloyd Jr., Randy B. Lloyd and Hyter K. “Snipe” Lloyd. 

 He is survived by a devoted brother Robert “Bobby” Marks and wife Jane of Louisa, daughter Joyce M. Coates and husband Jeff of Louisa; two grandsons R.C. Humphrey Jr. and wife Melissa of Louisa and William C. Humphrey and wife Serena of Louisa; four great grandchildren Sadie Anne, Emma Grace, Russell Conway III and Bailey Faye.  Six sisters-in-laws Alice Plageman, Rebecca Hicks and husband Buck, Nancy Smith and husband Sammy, Dorothy Lloyd, Shirley Lloyd and Julie Lloyd and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

 Per Russell’s request there will be no service held.  Memorial contributions may be made to Berea Baptist Church,5271 Poindexter Road Louisa, Va 23093.
