Roy McKinley Gallihugh Sr., 89, of Somerset passed away on Friday, February 24, 2023, at the Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital. He was born on September 24, 1933 in Somerset and was a son of the late Roy Lee and Maude Lee Garrison Gallihugh. He was also preceded in death by a son, Charles Lee Gallihugh, a brother, William “Bill” Gallihugh, and a sister, Mary Jane Whyte.

He is survived by his wife, Flora Ann Bledsoe Gallihugh, a daughter, Ann Gallihugh Baxter and husband Dennis, a son, Roy McKinley Gallihugh Jr. and wife Sheila a sister, Janice Coppa, grandchildren, Makayla Baxter, Brad Gallihugh, Amanda Boggs, Laurel Burley, Reid Jones, and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Orange, with burial in Graham Cemetery. Pastors Dana Peebles and Robert Anthony will officiate. The family will receive friends on Monday, February 27, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Barboursville Volunteer Fire Company, P.O. Box 122 Barboursviile, Va. 22923 or the Somerset Christian Church, P.O. Box 1133 Orange, Va. 22960.
