William Council Holt ,72, of Gordonsville, Virginia passed away Saturday March 8, 2025, in Charlottesville, Virginia. He was born August 2, 1952, in Ada, Oklahoma and was the son of late Waldon Council Holt and Nora Lee Robinson Holt. He is also preceded in death by a sister, Linda Gross.

William Holt was an avid outdoorsman who found joy in nature and the open land. His passion for the outdoors was only matched by his numerous accomplishments in the cattle business, where his dedication and expertise earned him great respect. A hardworking man through and through, William’s tireless efforts were always driven by a deep love for his family. He was a kind and loving gentleman, known for his generosity and willingness to lend a hand to those in need. His legacy is one of integrity, compassion, and unwavering commitment to the people and values he held dear, especially his family.

Will is survived by his wife Peggy Rose Ann Holt; sons (and daughter in-laws) Ben C. Holt (Kerry Holt)of Granberry, Texas, Bradley Rhodes (Beth Ann Rhodes) of Keswick, Virginia, Rob Parkey (Lori Parkey) of Ada, Oklahoma; daughter (and son in-law) Rhonda Page (Mark Page) of Louisa, Virginia; sister Mary Thompson of Tishomingo, Oklahoma; grandchildren Tyler Holt, Harper Jane Holt, Kalen Parkey, Dylan Parkey, Katelynn Falk, Lauren Fox, and Zachary Page; great-grandchildren Preslee Ray Falk, McCoy Aksel Falk, and Jovie Parkey; and his dear friends of 30 years Kim Vanderploeg and late husband Mac Vanderploeg.

William’s Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm EST March 15, 2025 at Renback Barn, 8668 S. Blue Ridge Turnpike, Rochelle, VA 22738.

A memorial contribution may be made to Emily Couric Cancer Center, 1240 Lee St. Charlottesville, VA 22903. Preddy Funeral Home is assisting the family.
