Lula C. Compton went to be with her Lord, and Savior on November 4, 2022 at Autumn Care in Madison. She was born on October 26, 1935 in Washington, D. C. She was the daughter of the late E. J. Christian Sr. and Leah G. Christian. 

She was proceeded in death by her brother E. J. Christian Jr. and her sister Leah C. Dowdy.

She was a 1957 graduate of Bob Jones University majoring in chemistry. She taught school in Orange, Gordonsville, Louisa, and Spotsylvania. She became an insurance agent and worked alongside her husband Hubert Compton in their successful insurance agency.

She was a longtime fixture in the Orange Baptist Church, especially the chancel choir. 

She leaves her husband Hubert, and her daughter Marla Lynn. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and one cousin , Donald Christian, who will miss her very much.

The funeral will be held at the Orange Baptist Church on Thursday, November 10, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. The service will be officiated by Rev. Alan Miller with Nick Luthman, Tracy Gooding, and Daniel Dowdy. Interment was in the Graham Cemetery. Preddy Funeral Home of Orange assisted the family.   A family visitation will be held one hour before the service, from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the church.
