James Robert Garnett, Jr., 75 of Gordonsville, died Friday November 4, 2022. Born May 26, 1947 in Fredericksburg, he was the son of the late James Robert Garnett and Myrtis Bache Garnett. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Doris Garnett.

Mr. Garnett was a member of Blue Ridge Shores Baptist Church and he served in the U.S. Air Force. He was retired from Fort Belvoir where he worked in the research and technology department.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita C. Garnett, his brothers-in-law, Garland Coates and wife Cynthia Lewis Coates all of Gordonsville, nephews, Brandon and Jarryd Coates and a host of friends.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday November 10, 2022 at Sunset Memorial Park in Fredericksburg with Pastor Steve Wetzel officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday evening, November 9 at Preddy Funeral Home in Gordonsville.
