Helen Elizabeth (Bunch) Faulconer, 96, of Charlottesville Va. passed away on Saturday November 5, 2022 in Charlottesville. Helen was born on May 1st, 1926 in Huntington, WV to the late Zachariah Garland “Zack” Bunch and Emma Helena “Lena” Burks Bunch. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 yrs. Walter Edward “Sticker” Faulconer and seven siblings, Leland F. Bunch (Pauline), Lois B. Alexander (Leonard), Robert G. Bunch (Orpha), Miles Lee Bunch (Ruth), Ralph G. “Pete” Bunch (Bev), George B. “Sonny” Bunch (Phyllis), and Phyllis J. Gill (Billy).

Helen graduated High School in Olive Hill Kentucky and attended Morehead State College and The University of Kentucky. After a family move to Orange, VA she was employed by Young Equipment Co. After marriage she became a homemaker and together, they operated a dairy, “Huntsman’s Rest” on Monrovia Rd. Orange. Later moving to Charlottesville to join the family Construction business. Helen never met a stranger and was a friend and mother to all. She was a great cook and a wizard on a telephone. A most even tempered and gentle woman, she served others Biblically, and volunteering among other places at 1st Presbyterian preschool and the Martha Jefferson Hospital Auxiliary. She was a past member of Unionville Christian Church.

Helen is survived by her sons, Walter E. “Buzz” Faulconer Jr. and E. Garland Faulconer both of Charlottesville; granddaughters Rachel Anne Hinkle and husband Ethan of Greenville SC and Regan Elizabeth Faulconer of Austin Tx.; greatgrandsons Hunter Faulconer Hinkle and Griffin Lee Hinkle of Greenville; a Special Niece, Lena Lyn Gill of Orange VA. and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

 The family would like to thank the residents and Staff of Morningside Assisted Living for their friendship and care of our Mom and Dad.

A graveside funeral will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at Rhoadesville Church Cemetery.  After the service, a time of fellowship will be held in the church social hall.
