Kinney Howard Simpkins, 73, of Unionville passed away Saturday, August 13, 2022. He was born September 23, 1948 in Washington DC to the late Lawrence Wesley Simpkins and Audrey Virginia Finney Simpkins. He was also preceded in death by his son, Kenneth Wade Simpkins.
Kinney was a U.S. Army recruiter, Navy Veteran and a member of the National Guard.
He is survived by his wife, Erika Johanna Simpkins; daughter, Christina M. Gileau and husband Robert of Woodbridge; brothers, Lawrence W. Simpkins Jr. and wife Janet of Wilmington, NC, Gene Wray Simpkins and wife Patrica of Pascagula, MS, William David Simpkins of Bumpass, VA; sister, Barbara Ann Robertson of Bumpass, VA; grandchildren, Kaley Ruth Gileau and Bradi Susan Gileau.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, August 19, 2022 at New Hope Baptist Church, 32250 Old Plank Rd., Locust Grove, VA 22508. Pastors Robert Bratcher and Eddie Haynes will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at New Hope Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers memorial contribution be made to St. Jude Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
