Charles "Chuck" Elmer Engel Jr. April 24, 2025
Charles “Chuck” Elmer Engel Jr., 60, of Orange, VA, was received into the arms of Jesus on April 24, 2025, after a battle with lung cancer. He was surrounded by his family.
He was born on November 27, 1964 in Annapolis, MD to Charles Elmer Engel Sr. and Marie Anna Engel of Orange.
Chuck was predeceased by his parents, his daughter Peggy Marie, and brothers Myron Engel and Stanley Engel.
He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 36 years, Rebecca Shifflett Engel, his son Charles Curtis Engel and wife Brooke Engel, his grandson Maverick (Mak) Engel, his brothers David Charles Engel, Calvin Ira Engel, and Mark Anthony Engel.
Chuck worked as an electrician at Woodberry Forest for the last 20 years of his career. He was devoted to his career and felt blessed to have worked for Woodberry. His attention to detail enhanced the lives of all those around him. He loved antiquing and taking special care of his cattle. He spent his time sharing and cultivating his love of farming, hunting, and country living with his son Curtis. One of his happiest moments was becoming Paw-Paw to Maverick. His love for his wife Becky was unconditional. Chuck’s love for God and family were the most important aspects of his life.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at 11:00 am at the Preddy's Funeral Chapel, Orange. Graveside will be held at Graham Cemetery immediately following the service. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 28, 2025, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at the Preddy Funeral Home, 250 West Main St. Orange, VA 22960.
