Henry Edward Miller                                     April 5, 2025

Henry Edward Miller, 82, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Saturday morning, April 5, 2025. He is survived by his beloved companion, Mary Attkisson, who held a special place in his heart and was his most significant other throughout his later years.

Henry was preceded in death by his identical twin brother, Andrew Fred Miller (Andy), who passed on March 9, 2021, at the age of 78. The bond between the twins was extraordinary, and they were separated only twice in their lives—first when Andy served in the Army during the Vietnam War, and later when Andy left this world.
Henry is also survived by his Aunt Barbara and her companion, Garnet Jett; and cousins Patricia Hopkins (Patty), Theodore A. Megee, Jr. (always affectionately called Skippy Junior by the twins), Susan E. Megee, Thomas G. Megee (Tom), James E. Megee, and Valeria Temple. Dear friends include Roger Brooks, Wanda Boyce, and Dianne Jessup. Henry and Andy were preceded in death by their parents, Dorothy M. Miller and Ellsworth R. Miller.

Henry dedicated his life to the trucking industry, founding and running H. E. Miller Trucking Company for over 60 years. Although Andy preferred not to take on the responsibilities of business ownership, he worked faithfully alongside Henry as his trusted “employee.” The twins shared a lifelong passion for old cars and trucks, particularly Fords, though they occasionally ventured into other makes like MGs, Chevrolets, and Buicks. They delighted in attending car shows and auctions, where they bought, restored, and sometimes sold classic vehicles. However, certain models held sentimental value and became permanent fixtures in their collection, serving as poignant reminders of cherished memories and loved ones.

In accordance with his wishes, Henry will be laid to rest alongside Andy in Maplewood Cemetery, Gordonsville, Virginia. A graveside service will be held to honor and celebrate his life at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 14, 2025, at Maplewood Cemetery in Gordonsville, Virginia.
