Garry Wayne Harvey was born on April 14, 1953 in Harrisonburg, VA to loving parents who preceded his death. Garry was the oldest of 4 siblings: Larry, Vicky, and James (Jimmy) Harvey. Garry dedicated his life to law enforcement and public service. From his service as patrol, K-9, SWAT, Investigations, Virginia State Police Task Force and Captain in charge of CID at Madison County Sheriff’s Office, he accomplished many achievements throughout his 40+ years in law enforcement, His passion for animals lead him to train K-9’s and he was a nationally recognized trainer and instructor which combined his love for animals and his career. Not only was he a hard worker at his job, he also had a passion for farming, which he took great pride in. He owned and operated a horse farm and kennel, Starlight Ranch and Kennel, at his home in Brightwood, VA. Garry Harvey was known nationally in the martial arts world as “Ti Ching”. Garry was a 10th degree black belt and instructor who won multiple National championships and trained Nationally ranked competitors. Garry’s favorite hobby was riding motorcycles, which lead him to join the Lords of Loyalty motorcycle club which he later became President. After stepping down as President of Lords of Loyalty, he created his own motorcycle club, Battle Born MC and made many lifelong friends throughout the years that shared the same passion. Garry peacefully passed on April 4, 2025 surrounded by his loving family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Doris Harvey, sons Bruce and Tanner Harvey (and wife, Samantha), his adult granddaughter Siara Harvey, who he raised as his own, and 3 younger grandchildren Madelynn and Elarya (Ellie) Harvey and Bentley Haynes, who all love him dearly and will keep his memory alive for decades to come. 
Garry Harvey’s memorial service will be held on his farm in Brightwood, VA on Saturday, May 3rd, 2025.
