The world lost a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and dearest best friend on January 25, 2022. Freda Tillett was born on December 3, 1939 in Princeton, WVA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Tillett; her mother and father, Opal Honaker Proffitt and Edward Proffitt; brothers Lonnie and Billy Proffitt, and sisters Mona Proffitt and Mary Graves.
She is survived by her children, Donna Hashiguchi and her husband Dean, and John Barnard of Lynchburg, VA; her grandchildren, Jeremy Hashiguchi and his wife, Laura; Emily and Grace Hashiguchi. She also is survived by two brothers, Edward Proffitt, Jr. and Wesley Hart; and two sisters, Dora Estes and her husband Dale, and Margaret Simpson, numerous nieces and nephews, her lifelong best friend, Barbara Cook of Jessup, Maryland and her beloved parrot, Andy Bird.
Private burial will be held on February 7, 2022 in Hillcrest Cemetery, Louisa, VA.
