On June 30, 2022 Judy Martin Wheeler was suddenly called home to be with Our Lord and Savior. She was a lifelong native of Orange, Virginia where she was a well loved, respected staple of our community having spent over 30 years employed with Orange County School System as an instructional assistant.
Judy was a cherished wife, a mother, a grandmother, a sister, an aunt and a friend to many. She cared deeply for all and did so unconditionally and without obligation. Judy was the first to offer her help , bring a meal, lend an ear to her family, friends, neighbors and community. She ensured that every child that crossed her threshold was safe, happy and healthy. Judy was elated to be the center figure in the lives of her family and loved ones. The highlight of her week were Sunday dinners where all were welcome for joy, laughter and good food.
Judy is predeceased by her father, Melvin “Randolph” Martin, her mother Frances Martin, her brother Melvin Martin and her sister Diane Harris.
Judy is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Michael “Mike” Wheeler, her daughter Frances Amos spouse of Randy Amos, her son Michael Wheeler spouse of Cindy Wheeler, her grandchildren, all of which were the joy of her life, Corey Amos, Ian Amos, Evan Wheeler and Olivia Wheeler. Also survived by her brother William “Oscar” Martin and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family asks for your prayers during this difficult time and in lieu of flowers please make contributions to an organization close to your heart.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2 p.m. at her home, 10386 Larmond Road, Orange, VA, 22960, to honor Judy and the remarkable impact she’s made by generously touching so many lives.
