Wilma Fithian March 25, 2025
In Loving Memory - On March 25, 2025 Wilma Fithian, died at her home in Gordonsville, VA. Wilma was the beloved wife of Robert W. Fithian for 46 years, the loving mother of Robert C. Fithian and wife Julie, Anne C. Reynolds and husband Barrett, and Lauren E. Blue and husband Adam. In addition, she was the loving grandmother of Abigail, Charlotte, and Isabel Fithian; Jackson, Harper, Ella, Hudson, and Penelope Reynolds; and Amelia Blue. Wilma is also survived by her sister and brothers, Mary Bocchino and husband Michael of West Orange, NJ, Charles Daniels and wife Elena of Easton, NJ, Baron Daniels and wife Rebecca of Tunkhannock, PA, and Roger Daniels and wife Christine of Tunkhannock, PA. Wilma was preceded in death by parents Charles Daniels, Sr. and Anne Daniels.
Mrs. Fithian held a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from West Virginia University and was a lifelong learner of the natural world. She was an exemplary science teacher in Fairfax County Public Schools from 1979 until her retirement in 2005. In 2014 the West Virginia University, Davis College of Agriculture and Natural Resources named the Robert and Wilma Fithian Trust, Philanthropist of the Year.
In December of 2008 Wilma and Robert moved to Montebello Farm near Gordonsville, VA where Wilma enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, caring for her rescued pets, and tending her garden until her passing.
In lieu of flowers, Wilma’s family suggests a donation in her name to The Campaign for Grymes, Grymes Memorial School, Orange, VA.
