Violet Ruth Morris Racer of Orange passed away May 17, 2024 at the Dogwood Village of Orange. She was the last surviving child of Empire and Dora Brookman Morris, born on April 29, 1925 at Eheart, VA.

She was predeceased by her nine sisters and one brother, her husband George L. (Dick) Racer, her son Douglas L. Racer, grandson Keith D. Racer and son-in-law Sonny McGhee.

She is survived by her son Steve M. Racer his wife Chris; daughter Joann R. McGhee; grandchildren Anthony McGhee, Audrey Badgett her husband Brian, Mark McGhee his wife Sherri; great grandchildren Kameron McGhee, Dylan McGhee his wife McLendon, Colby McGhee his friend Kaitlyn, Justin Badgett his fiance’ Meagan; great great grandchildren Kinslee McGhee, Levi McGhee and Paige McGhee; special niece Pat Davis; and special caregivers Tracey U. Velasco and Donna B. Diaz.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at the Preddy Funeral Chapel, Orange with Pastor Kris Cook officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. before the funeral service.
