He was born on July 31, 1943, in Somerset VA, son of the late Thomas McKinley Gallihugh Sr. and Lorene Samuels Gallihugh. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 48 years, Doris Herrion Gallihugh and son, Terry Ralph Gallihugh.  

Tommy was a former employee of Frank IX and Sons in Charlottesville.  

He was a lifetime member of Blue Run Baptist Church in Somerset.  

He is survived by a son, Kevin Wade Gallihugh and wife, Kim, of Barboursville; a sister Patricia Gallihugh Hoy and husband, Kenny of Charlottesville; nieces Meagan and Samantha; great niece, Rosalee; close neighbor and friend of nearly 60 years, Mack Shifflett; three very special children in his life, Austin, Taylor, and Cameron; loving Herrion family that embraced him as one of their own; a devoted circle of friends who provided unwavering love and support after the loss of his beloved wife in 2011; his faithful Blue Run Baptist Church family, and his loyal companion, Sassy.

The family extends a special thank you to Caryn Marshall, RN, for the loving support, kindness, and care shown to Tommy, Kevin, Patricia, and Kim.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, February 10, 2025, at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Gordonsville with Rev. Barry Higgins officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery.
