Theresa Jane King Massey of Ruckersville, Virginia, passed away Sunday, January 30, 2022, in Charlottesville at age 92. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, and friend.

 

“Terry” had two daughters and four grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter Lynn Arebalo (Vince) and their sons Alex Arebalo and Dax Arebalo, as well as grandchildren Jordan Wyler Hamby (Patrick) and Chase Wyler, and their father Richard Wyler. Terry’s eldest daughter, Marie Wyler, died in 2006.

 

Terry was born October 23, 1929, in Jackman, Maine. She was the only child of Foster and Eva King. Terry earned a bachelor’s degree from Tufts University in Massachusetts and a master’s of education from the University of Maine. She spent much of her early professional career teaching school, including on military bases in Alaska and Germany. She later served as executive director of regional Girl Scout councils in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and California.

 

Terry retired to Ruckersville in 2000 to be close to family. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Family and friends will hold a graveside service in Gordonsville on Saturday, February 5.
