Susan Angela Hanner, 48, of Gordonsville, Virginia passed away at home on January 31, 2022, after a short battle with cancer with her loving husband, Trip, by her side. She is preceded in death by her parents, Brian Ralph Hall and Frankie June Hall of Orange, Virginia, and her brother Michael D. Hall of Oldtown, Maryland.

Susan was born in Bermuda on April 22, 1973. She graduated from Virginia Intermont College with a BA in English and a Minor in Equine Studies. An accomplished equestrian, she managed the Elmwood Farm Equestrian Center in Orange, Virginia until 2017. At the time of her passing, she was employed by Woodbury Forest School, in Orange, Virginia.

Anyone who knew Susan enjoyed her wonderful sense of humor and sharp wit. She was kindness personified, selfless, always made everyone she knew welcome and had a wonderful down-to-earth view of the world. Susan had many friends and she treasured them all. While she loved all animals, she valued her relationship with her horses the most throughout her life. She was a loving mother, a caring sister, and a valued partner in life to her husband.

Susan is survived by her husband, Clyde W. Hanner, III, her children; Corey Allen Hanner, Alan Brian Thomson, Charles Carter Thomson and Eric Ryan Hanner, her grandchild; Corey Allen Hanner, II, and her brothers; Rob Hall and Peter Hall.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday February 10, 2022 at Preddy Funeral home in Gordonsville. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
