Our beloved husband, father, and pastor Wendell Franklin Lamb entered his heavenly home on June 13, 2022.

Wendell was born to Frank and Mary Lamb on September 9, 1941, in Charlottesville, VA. He graduated from William Monroe High School. After graduation, he served in the Army Reserves and attended Bob Jones University and Washington Bible College. Wendell’s many ministries included pastoring several churches and teaching Bible classes through Children’s Bible Ministries in public schools and summer camps.

Wendell was married to Janice Geneva Lamb for over fifty years. He and Janice had four children, Jeffrey, Jeanette, Anthony, and Philip. They had fourteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Wendell was a loyal servant to God, first and foremost. He loved the church, memorizing scripture, and sharing the love and warmth of our Savior, Jesus Christ, with as many people as possible. Wendell founded Bethel Baptist Church in Albemarle County and pastored there for over twenty-three years. At the time of his passing, he was the pastor of Stanardsville Baptist Church in Greene County.

Wendell joins his father and mother, Franklin and Mary, and brother, Phillip Tucker, in Heaven. He is survived by many loving friends and family members, including his sister Mary Lou Frey, and brothers, Larry and Richard Lamb, in addition to many nieces and nephews.

Wendell gave his time, talents, and treasures serving the Lord. 2 Corinthians 9:7 “For God loveth a cheerful giver.”

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Bethel Baptist Church, Albemarle County with Pastor Anthony Lamb officiating. Interment will be in Holly Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, June 17, 2022 at Preddy Funeral Home in Madison.
