Born June 24, 1972, in Atlanta, GA was the son of Elmer Nicholson Dyer and Jean Amelia Beasley Atkinson. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and parents.

Byron was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, son, U.S. Navy Veteran, and civil servant.

Byron was survived by his 5 children (4 daughters and 1 son) Adrienne Steinrock, Rebecca Bolden, (Spencer Bolden son-in-law) Sidney Atkinson, Megan Atkinson, and Braedon Atkinson; and 4 grandchildren Rayaan Javed, Jane Steinrock, Isadora Bolden, and Gwendolyn Bolden. His brother Eric Atkinson, sister-in-law Hannah Atkinson, and their children: Simone and Julian Atkinson; Sister-in-law Paula Hughes, and her children: Sarah Reiglesperger, Gabby Amann, Jacob Hughes, and Lily Hughes; and brother-in-law Greg Jones Jr. and Joely Jones.     

As part of Byron’s legacy, Megan created a Google site   for friends, family, and colleagues to share how they knew Byron, how he impacted their lives, a funny story about Byron, and/ or a picture to share.

Memorial Service will be from 1-4 on Wednesday, January 22, 202,5 at Preddy Funeral Home in Orange, VA.
