Monica Lamont Robinson was born at UVA Hospital on September 19,1972 to the late Juanita Waddy and Henry Thomas Robinson of Louisa, Va. She transitioned on May 1, 2023, while at the Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville, Va.
Monica education was in the Louisa County Public School system. She graduated from Louisa County High School in 1992
Monica became a member early in life to Thessalonia Baptist Church
Monica loved to work. She worked for several years as a Personal Care Aid between Charlottesville and Louisa. She also worked at Fas Mart for several years. When she needed to, she would work at Wendy’s or Burger King along with the other jobs. She was a very hard worker.
She loved herself some Hattie Johnson known as “Stepmom”. She would call her during the day or late at night every day. She wanted to hear her voice for the day and or make sure her stepmom was not sick. They both enjoyed the back-in-forth jokes with lots of laughter and love. Hattie’s kids were known as her stepbrothers and stepsister.
Monica was a caring and kind person. She was loved by her family and friends.
Monica was predeceased by her father and mother, Henry Thomas and Juanita Robinson, Grand Mother Louise Robinson, Grand Father William Robinson Sr., Grand Parents Ernest and Lillie Hart Waddy, Aunts Doris Mallory, Virginia Farmer and Velma Waddy; Uncles William Robinson Jr., Isiah Waddy, Solomon Waddy, George Lee Waddy, Bobby Waddy, Oprice Waddy, Jeter Waddy, John Waddy, James E. Waddy, Harry “Roland” Waddy and James Gary Waddy.
Monica leaves to cherish her memory Hattie Johnson and kids, Aunt Janice Robinson of Louisa, Great Aunt Alberta Johnson of Louisa, Great Uncles Harry L. Brooks, Melvin (Nora) Brooks of Louisa, Albert Robinson of New York, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 12, 2023 at Preddy Funeral Home in Gordonsville. Interment will follow in the Robinson Family Cemetery.
