Mary Bernice Herndon, 90, of Louisa, died Friday, September 17, 2021 at her residence. Born January 25, 1931 in Gordonsville, she was the daughter of the late Frank Browning Beck and Anna Gobel Thomas Beck. She was the wife of the late Lewis Purdum Herndon. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Kay Sacra, one sister, Gladys Graves and five brothers, James E. Beck, George Beck, Oscar Beck, Lowell Beck and Clyde Beck. Mrs. Herndon was a member of Louisa United Methodist Church and she was retired from the Orange Madison Co-op.

She is survived by a daughter, Teresa Clements and husband Scotty of Orange, two grandchildren, Angela Goodman and husband William “Dino”, III of Bumpass, Michael Sacra of Mineral, two great-grandchildren, Lauren Goodman and Cole Goodman of Bumpass, two brothers, Eugene Beck and wife Jane of Charlottesville, Carlton Beck and wife Shirley of Barboursville, a son-in-law, Victor Sacra, Jr. of Mineral, sisters-in-law, Ellie Beck of Earlysville, Judy Beck of Fishersville and a host of other relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday September 24, 2021 at Hillcrest Cemetery in Louisa with Pastor David Palmer officiating.
