Mary Ann Frydrych, 74, of Youngstown, Oh. passed away on July 23, 2021 at her daughter’s home in Virginia. She was born on March 31, 1947 to the late Walter Andrew Frydrych and Lillian Delores Smajstrla Frydrych. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Andy Frydrych, and her longtime love, Bill Soccorsy, whom she missed terribly since his death in 2017.

She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Martin and husband Michael; brothers, John Frydrych, David Frydrych, Robert Frydrych; sisters, Jeannette Murko, Margie Stahle, Kathy Heister; grandchildren, Tyler Martin, Cody Martin and wife Robyn, Kaley Martin and Hollis Dow; great-grandchildren, Hayden Dow, Hazel Dow, and Harper Dow.

Mary Ann graduated from Mercer High school in 1965 and then worked at Packard Electric / Delphi until her retirement in 1999.

She was a regular bowler on a league at both Kay Lanes and McKinley Lanes for more than 20 years. She really enjoyed the friendships she made during those times.

She loved to swim and was a member of both the Jewish community center and Firestone Park in Canfield so she could swim year-round.  It was at the pool in 1991 that she met the love of her life, Bill Soccorsy.  With Bill, she became a PADI certified scuba diver.  Bill and Mary Ann traveled to dozens of tropical locations to dive and enjoy their time together. Their favorite place to visit and dive was Ocean City, MD.

She also shared her love of swimming with her grandchildren, taking them to the pool regularly each summer when they would stay with her.  She introduced them to her friends at the pool who were known as the "Poolies'. They all enjoyed time at the pool and other activities with the Poolies.

Mary Ann was also a member of the local AARP group where she was recently serving as the Hospitality leader before Covid.

A memorial Mass will be held at St. Michael Parish in Canfield, Oh at 10am, August 10th. All friends and family are welcome.

A celebration service is being scheduled in May 2022 with EternalReefs.com where Mary Ann will finally rest in the waters near Ocean City, MD that she loved to visit and dive with Bill.
