Leroy “Lee” Terrell went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 2, 2021. Leroy was born on November, 16, 1943 to the late Juanita Goodall and Tom Walker.
Leroy was a very humble, soft spoken and hardworking man. He was a wonderful husband and father. Leroy was a man that once you met him you would never forget. He loved playing baseball in his younger years. He always said he would rather play baseball than eat. He was a diehard fan of the Dallas Cowboys, regardless if they won or lost.
Leroy was employed at Murray Manufacturing for 25 years and Martha Jefferson Hospital for 5 years, until he retired.
Leroy was a faithful member of the Chestnut Grove Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. James Louderback. He served on the usher board and sang on the Men’s Choir for many years. He loved going to church and was loved by all. He was a person that you could not help but love and he will be greatly missed by all. Leroy truly fought a good fight!
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Lawrence Anthony Ward, grandson Eric “Bug” Quarles, sisters Lilian Blakey and Elizabeth Goodall, brother Bill Terrell, one niece Joyce Ann Blakey.
He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Maxine Terrell, mother in law Irma Waters, daughters Tammy Ward Johnson, Yolanda Terrell, Hope Renee Ward, Lisa Ward Williams (Christopher), sons, Gregory Ward, Chris Brock and Eric Brock, brother in laws, William Timothy Waters (Lisa) and James “Jimmy” Waters (Christine). Leroy is also survived by his 16 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
