Lebert Wayne Deane, 74, of Stanardsville, VA, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family and friends on December 6, 2022. He was born November 17, 1948, to the late Lebert Brown Deane and Bernice Shifflett Deane. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Deborah Garth Deane. After graduating from William Monroe High School, he worked for VDOT before entering the Army in 1967. He returned home to work as a carpenter for most of his life. He was a devoted husband, daddy, grandaddy, and friend to many.
He is survived by his only child, Amy Lynne Deane; his grandchildren, Bailey W. Legg (Cory), Alexis W. Williamson (Mark), and Jacob O. Wayland, all of Stanardsville. Additional survivors include a brother-in-law, Michael Garth, a niece, nephews, and numerous cousins.
Lebert was a member of the Country Cruisers Car Club. He was an avid Ford man and back in the day, loved to drag race. He loved spending time with his three grandbabies, as he called them. He also loved helping his grandson raise and care for goats and chickens. Lebert adored his dog of fifteen years, Midnight.

The family also wishes to express their gratitude to his nieces Diane and Lois, close friends Steve and Sharon Morris and Gary and Jean Sims for their daily care of the family as well as so many more extended friends and family for always checking in to offer their love and support.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30am on December 9, 2022, at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Madison with the Pastor Josh Shifflett officiating. The family will receive friends from 10-11:30am on December 9 at the funeral home. The internment will be private.
