Jean Marie Kraft Graves, 84, of Matthews Mill Road, died on Sunday, June 12, 2022, at the Culpeper Health and Rehab Center. Jean was born on January 2, 1938 in Baltimore and was the daughter of the late Earle Buckler Kraft Sr. and Lillian Graves Brockman Kraft. Jean was also predeceased by her husband Robert Earl Graves. 

Jean was a lifelong member of North Pamunkey Baptist Church. She graduated from Orange County High School in 1956 and was Valedictorian of her class. She worked as a secretary, then owner/operator of Brooks Insurance Agency in Orange for 43 years. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and spending time with family and friends.

Jean is survived by two nephews Linwood H. Sullivan and Debbie, and Troy P. Sullivan and Linda; two great nephews Steven Sullivan and Brian Sullivan; three great nieces Jessica B. Sullivan, Katherine Sullivan Pennell and Austin, and Melissa Sullivan; three great great nephews; one great great niece; two step sons E. Wayne Graves and Regina, and Carl F. Graves; two step daughters Brenda G. Gooch and Robert, and Ann G. Terrell and John; seven step grandchildren Kimberly G. Downin and Edgar, Robert E. Terrell, Christopher W. Graves and Jessie, Alice Lee Davenport and Joshua, Elizabeth O. Pate and Robert, Kelly O. Greenman and Vincent, and Erin O. Lewis and Shane; six great step children Chloe O’Reilly, Lee Anne Downin, Brianna Downin, Abigail Graves, R. Jesse Pate, and Reilly Anne Pate; one sister Lillian (Ginger) K. Schaffer; and two brothers-in-law William E. B. Graves and Joani, and Cecil A. Graves and Mary.

A viewing will be held at Preddy Funeral Home from 10-11 a.m. followed by a graveside funeral service at 12 noon at the North Pamunkey Baptist Church Cemetery on Friday, June 24, 2022. The Rev. Tim Jarrell and Rev. Mike Hattfield will officiate. Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of North Pamunkey Baptist Church, Linwood H. Sullivan and Troy P. Sullivan.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the North Pamunkey Baptist Church. 15109 Pamunkey Lane Orange, Va. 22960. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the funeral home. Preddy Funeral Home of Orange is assisting the family.
