Jay Ryan Dudley, 39, of Blue Ridge Shores, Louisa, Virginia passed away on Monday, March 7th, 2022. Jay was born on August 1, 1982, in Charlottesville Va., the son of Michael S. Dudley and Diana Lin (Gale) Dudley.
While Jay was known for his big personality, he started off life as a 2.8 pound preemie. His identical twin, Eric, passed away shortly after birth and Jay always felt a special connection to his brother.
As a young child, Jay kept everyone on their toes. He was curious, energetic, and talkative with a proclivity for naughtiness. Jay was gifted with a creative, mechanical mind and an ability to fix anything. His thoughtfulness and generosity were a blessing to all those around him.
Jay graduated from Orange County High School with the class of 2001.
Jay married Kathryn Pfunder on January 21, 2005. Jay and Katie have two beautiful children, Brandy (15) and Eric (13). Jay enjoyed teaching his children how to fish and watching movies together as a family.
Jay worked at Central Virginia Regional Jail and as a deputy sheriff for Culpeper County before finding a job where utilized his natural mechanical talents at Lohman Specialty Coating where he worked as a maintenance technician manager for many years.
Remaining to cherish Jay’s memory are his wife, Kathryn Pfunder Dudley; daughter, Brandy Lynn Dudley; son Eric Michael Dudley; parents, Michael and Diana Dudley; brothers, Shayne (Christen) Dudley, and John Hoyt; sisters, Dana (Jared) Berg, Cori (Michael) Holloway, Mychael -Ann (Jared) Pelo, and Dixie (Ben) Fentriss.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 12, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 420 Willow Lawn Drive, Culpeper, Virginia. The interment will be in Graham Cemetery in Orange, Virginia. Preddy Funeral Home in Orange, Va. is in charge of arrangements.
