Hazel Yancey Moon, born July 26, 1929 in Orange County. She was the daughter of the late William Daniel Yancey, and Ruth Foster Yancey. Her husband, William F. Moon, Jr. lives in Charlottesville, VA.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, Paul, Stuart, Sam, Jim, and Henry Yancey; and four sisters, Mary Pearson, Frances Eisenhower, Eva Lee, and Shirley Hanvey.

She is survived by one daughter, Joyce Atkins Waugh, and husband Robert of Unionville, VA; one sister, Peggy Garrett and husband, Bob of Orange, VA; grandson, Kevin Aylor and wife, Lori of Faber, VA; two great grandsons, Mason, and Zander Aylor; and numerous loving nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Preddy Funeral Home, 250 West Main St. Orange, VA 22960.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Holly Memorial Gardens, 3251 Seminole Trl., Charlottesville, VA 22911, with Pastor Jeffrey Smith officiating.
