Hansford Lee Ralston, 88 of Culpeper, died Thursday June 22, 2023 at his residence. Born May 25, 1935 in Augusta County, he was the son of the late Elizabeth Ralston Knott. He was also preceded in death by his brother, John Knott and a sister, Mary Puffenbarger. Hansford was a longtime member of First Century Baptist Church in Stevensburg and he was retired from Teves in Culpeper. He was a caring man and always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed him. He was a humble, kind and gentle man. A devoted father and a proud grandparent. He was a man of few words but left a long and lasting impact on all those who knew him. He was a faithful man of God and his church, where he loved his brothers and sisters in Christ. He was and remains to be a pillar of kindness and strength. Hansford was an avid golf fan and he enjoyed fishing and any piddling that needed to be done.

He is survived by his wife, Adelaide Ralston, one daughter, Kathy Deane, five sons, Roger Ralston and wife Judi, Chuck Bauer, David Ralston and friend Jamie, Jason Bauer, Brian Bauer and wife Jen, three sisters, Virginia Mae Kline, Jo Ann Mathias, Peggy Sue Knott, fourteen grandchildren, Heather Jenkins (Seth), Christopher Brown (Karlene), Sara Brown (Matt), Kelsey Brown (Barry), Daniel Ralston, Allison Ralston, Raven Hamner (Nicholas), Alyssa Leuterio (Micah), Jonathan Deane, Haley Bauer, Carly Bauer, Brian Bauer, Tristan Ralston, Olivia Ralston, eight great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday June 27, 2023 at First Century Baptist Church, 19191 Batna Road, Culpeper, VA 22701 with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Pastor Lee Brown will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
