Gene Dale Breeden                 June 25, 2023

Gene Dale Breeden, 89 of Madison, went to his heavenly home on Sunday, June 25, 2023 at his home with his beloved family by his side. Gene was born on November 11, 1933 to the late Zula C. Breeden. In addition to his mother, he was also preceded in death by a son, James Michael Breeden; and two great-grandchildren, Dyllon West and Layla Lamb.

Gene was an active lifetime member of Liberty Baptist Church where he served as a trustee since 1970. Gene served eighteen months in the U.S. Army and retired from Greene County VDOT after 25 plus years of service.

Gene is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Elizabeth S. Breeden; three daughters, Linda Nicholson, Dale Lamb, and Jenifer Martin (Paul); grandchildren, Inez Robbins, Faith Nicholson, Pete Breeden, Shannon West, Jeremy Lamb, J. D. Breeden, Brandon Lamb, Kirt Martin, Justin Breeden, Samantha Richards; great-grandchildren, Cassandra Robbins, Erin Nicholson, Kaylyn Hanna, Austin West, Eli Breeden, Hailey Lamb, Skyler Gable, Lilee Richards, Reygan Lamb, Levi Lamb, Lucas-Gene Martin, Wayland Breeden, ; and four great-great-grandchildren, Eleyna Olsen, Wyatt Olsen, Paisleigh Olsen, and Hunter Hanna.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Madison with Perry Clore officiating. Interment will be in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service, 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
