George Joseph Sutorka, 80, of Lake Pointe Drive, Mineral died on Monday, December 6, 2021 at the Culpeper Memorial Hospital, Culpeper. He was born on August 2, 1941 in Creighton, Pennsylvania, and was the son of the late George M. Sutorka and Irene Kubican Sutorka. He was also predeceased by a sister Julie Harrell.

He is survived by his wife Brenda Lohr Sutorka of Mineral; a step daughter Angela Sadler and Jeff of Orange; a son Troy Sutorka and Linda of Virginia Beach; a step son Troy Coppage and Karen of Madison; nine grandchildren Matthew Sutorka, Benjamin Sutorka, Tyler Coppage, Ian Coppage, Katelyn Peters, Aaron Peters, Jake Sadler, Maggie Graves, and Weston Sadler; four great grandchildren Rylee, Beckham, Everleigh, and Milo; two sisters Darlene Langbein of Murrells Inlet, SC, and Irene McManic of Trussville, AL.

Upon graduating high school in 1959 George served in the US Army for two years. He spent the next two years traveling the US with his childhood friend. They traveled from town to town finding job after job to sustain themselves and earn enough money to buy gas to travel to their next chosen stop. George spent the next 50 years in banking working in various capacities. Upon retirement he enjoyed spending time with his family and the water. He rarely missed a day in the presence of one or both.

A memorial funeral service will be held on Friday, December 10,2021, at 2:30 P. M. at the Preddy Funeral Chapel, Orange with interment to be private. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:30 P. M. prior to the memorial service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity. Preddy Funeral Home of Orange is assisting the family.
