Frederick William Higgins Jr. 91, of Boxley Lane, Orange died on Tuesday April 11, 2023 at his residence. He was born on March 4, 1932 in Charlottesville and was the son of the late Frederick William Higgins Sr. and Una McAlexander Higgins.

He is survived by his wife Winifred Brown Hutchison Higgins of Orange; a sister-in-law Linda Higgins of Richmond; and two nieces Beverly Wells and Sandra Kienast both of Richmond, and step-sons, Andy Hutchison and wife Audrey, of Orange, and Mark Hutchison, and wife Gina, of Somerset.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. at the Oak Chapel Baptist Church in Montford. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at the church. Interment will be in the Graham Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Orange Boys and Girls Club, 202 Dailey Drive, Orange, Va. 22960 or the Oak Chapel Baptist Church, 11415 Montford Road, Orange, Va. 22960. Preddy Funeral Home of Orange is assisting the family.
