Dorothy Norford Garnett, 87, if Orange died on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at the Dogwood Senior Living Center. She was born August 22, 1933 in Albemarle County, and was the daughter of the late Morton Norford and Annie Thomas Norford. She was also predeceased by her husband George Thomas Garnett, a nephew Billy Davis, and two sisters Frances Davis and Jean Davis.

She was a retired secretary for the Treasury Department for the sate of Virginia, and a member of the Swift Run Baptist Church.

She is survived by a niece Connie D.Sturm and husband Russell of Orange; two great nieces Samantha A. Cooper and husband Patrick of Unionville, and Belinda J. Sturn and husband Richard Maier of Fredericksburg; two great great nephews Jack Cooper and William Cooper of Unionville; and one great great niece Hadley Maier of Fredericksburg.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. at the Graham Cemetery, Orange. Rev Mark Holder will officiate. Preddy Funeral Home of Orange is assisting the family.
