Dorothy Campbell Darnell                December 19, 2022

Dorothy Campbell Darnell, 76, of Louisa, passed away on Monday December 19, 2022. Born November 8, 1946, she was the daughter of the late, Roy Felton Campbell and Della Amick Campbell. She was the wife of the late Nelson Lacey Darnell Jr. Mrs. Darnell was retired from Virginia Community Bank. She loved spending time with her family and friends. When she wasn’t in Virginia you could find her in Florida, spending time by the pool, on the beach or with her friends. She was a kind hearted, generous, fun spirited person. One of her closest friends described her as “The person who likes to have fun more than anyone, the person who would give you the shirt off her back if she thought it could help you and the best friend anyone could want.” 

She is survived by two daughters, Lisa Sargent and husband Ricky of Chesterfield, Vicki Baker and husband David of Louisa, one son, Ronald Darnell and wife Shelly of Cincinnati, Ohio, one brother, Roy Campbell, Jr. of Keswick, three sisters, Carolyn Neselrod of Hampton, Betty Sharp of Richmond, Cheryl Smith of Louisa, twelve grandchildren, (Vicki) Kristen, Chris, Nick, Kaili, Mya, Anxin (Ronald) Joshua, Francesca  (Lisa) Lauren, Tyler, Carmen, Tayeb, seven great-grandchildren, (Kristen) Ayva, Juliette, Connor, Everett (Lauren) Sylvie, Wren, Duke. She was loved and will be missed by many other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday December 22, 2022 at Preddy Funeral Home in Gordonsville. Interment will be private at Hillcrest Cemetery in Louisa.
