Daniel Matthew Dowling, Sr., 73, of Brightwood, passed away July 1, 2021. Dan was born on April 24, 1948 to the late William and Billie Dowling of Lewisdale, Maryland.

Dan is survived by his son, Daniel “Sonny” Dowling and wife Lori Dowling; daughter Kimberly Dowling and husband Brian Smith; granddaughter Meagen Dowling; grandsons Ethan and Trevor Smith; sisters-in-law Deanna Rewinkel and husband Doug, Brenda Tuttle, and Linda Clatterbuck and husband, Anthony; and many nieces and nephews. Dan was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife, Norma Dowling. 

Dan served in the United States Marine Corps and later worked as an automotive painter and Technician for DuPont. He was a devoted family man and loved coaching soccer, playing paintball, and making people laugh. His was known for his sense of humor and will be missed by all who knew him. 

At Celebration of Life will be held on  Saturday, July 17 at 2 pm at Reva Volunteer Fire & Rescue , 18230 Birmingham Road, Culpeper, VA 22701.
