It is with sadness that I have lost the love of my life, Danny, to dementia on November 9, 2024, at the age of 80. Danny was born on March 21, 1944, to the late Reginald and Eva Gooding Anderson of Aroda, Va. (Madison County) He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother William Howard Anderson and his best friend Andy Bennett.

He retired after 38 years as the best tractor trailer driver milk hauler. It was a job he enjoyed and was dedicated to his entire career. He loved to hunt and fish and took many trips out west to hunt with his buddies. Danny also enjoyed his bird dogs. He loved working on farm tractors and mowers over the years.

Danny is survived by his companion partner, and best friend, JoAnn McCarthy. He is also survived by his daughter and her husband; sister-in-law; a niece and her husband; great niece and great nephew.

I would like to thank Heartland Hospice for all of their care. Also, thanks to three of the greatest caregivers anyone could have, Rhonda Hendricks, Yvonne Bettis, Betty Mast; and three of the greatest friends, Mable and Joe Young and Ruth Mast. I would like also to thank many other friends and family for the thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Preddy Funeral Home in Madison with Associate Pastor Paul Estes. Interment will be in Walker’s Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour before the service, from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the funeral home.
