Audrey was born July 11, 1933, in Barboursville and graduated from McIntire High School in Charlottesville. In addition to raising two children, Audrey worked at a law firm and for the Albemarle County School System. Audrey was a most gifted crafter; she was a master quilter, knitter, and crocheter, but she loved her jigsaw out in her garage most of all. She made numerous wooden angels and other crafts for the Christmas Bazaar at the Barboursville UMC. She didn’t like to cook, but baking was a different story and there was a rush for her apple pies and her sourdough bread and if you came in her house, she would try and feed you. She was heavily involved in Barboursville UMC, including being the President of the UMW for several years. But by far, her greatest gift was the love that she shared with everyone, something that even the ravages of Alzheimer’s couldn’t steal.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Holly Memorial Gardens, with the Reverend Ethan Shearer officiating.
