Robert "Bob" H. Adkins                           December 11, 2024

Robert “Bob” H. Adkins, 72, of Gordonsville, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2024.

Born on March 10, 1952, he was the son of George Andrew Adkins and Catherine Ernstine Perkins.

Bob was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He enjoyed camping and the annual hunting trip. His passion was playing Santa Claus for all the children. He would play the part from Halloween to Christmas. He loved to see the excitement in the kids when they saw him. Gunsmoke and the news were on the TV unless it was time for Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. He retired from Prince William County as Chief Mechanical Inspector in 2016. He spent his summers at the beach or swimming in the pool with the kids and grandkids. May your journey on the Stairway to Heaven be peaceful.

Bob is survived by his wife, Cleo Faye Adkins; his three daughters, Michelle Goodwin, Nichole Cooper (John), and Samantha Berriman (Brandon); his sons, Robert Moneymaker (Nancy), and Andre Haakenson; his brother, Harry Perkins Jr.; his sister, Christy Kitchens (Rob); his grandchildren Coty Goodwin (Hayley), Alexis Harrison (Brandon), Bailey Moneymaker, William “Billy” Cooper, Tristen Goodwin (Taylor), Rachel Cooper, Ashley Goodwin, Elizabeth Goodwin, Cheyenne Henderson, Harley Cooper, and Devin Tate; and his great-grandchildren, Brayden Goodwin, Kayce Goodwin, Lucas Goodwin, and Morgan Goodwin.

A graveside service will be held at Bob’s family home, at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 15, 2024. For family and close friends with a reception to follow the ceremony.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to UVA Cancer Center.
