She is survived by her daughter Sharon Shiflett King (Stephen Hopkins), grandson Garyt King (Whitney Perkins), granddaughter Kaitlyn King, step-granddaughter Kelly King, former son-in-law Ike King, step-daughter Sherry Solowow, step-son Richard “Van” Shiflett (Karen), chosen son Kelly Carter (Charleen), sister-in-law Elizabeth Watson, K9 companion Abby, and numerous family and friends.

The family would like to thank Dr. Renee Fisher and staff, Dr. Anthony Crimaldi, Dr. Andrew Romano, staff of Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital Radiology and Oncology Units, Hospice of the Piedmont, their staff, and MawMaw’s nurse, Tammy Amirez for their outstanding medical care and unwavering patient commitment.
