Betty Lou Cave of Madison, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2023 at the University of Virginia Hospital. Betty was born on July 2, 1947 to the late Meade Nichols and Fairy Susie Jenkins Nichols. She was preceded in death by her three sisters, Margaret Foushee, Sadie Jenkins, Nancy Cunningham and one brother, Clyde Junior Nichols.

 

Betty is survived by her husband of 59 years,  Arthur James Cave; her five sons,  Mike and his wife Sharon, Danny, Jerry and his partner Matt, Mark and his wife Missy, and Greg and his wife Angela; five grandchildren, Kevin, Ashley, Jamie, Taylor, Ally, and Courtney that she loved dearly; one great-grandchild Kayden; and her brother Jimmy Nichols,  along with a host of nieces and nephews.

 

Betty was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and grandmother. Aside from loving her family, her passion was working in her vegetable and flower gardens. She took great pride in her peonies each year.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Madison with interment in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Madison. Conducted by Pastors Tim Duggins, Ray Berry, and Teddy Cave. The family will receive friends one hour before the service, from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the funeral home.
