Annie “Anne” Colvin Carter
November 6, 1926 – December 22, 2022
Annie (Anne) Colvin Carter, 96, of Adelphi, Maryland, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2022. She was born on November 6, 1926 in Madison Mills, Virginia to Ernest and Mary Kube Colvin, the eldest of five children. The widow of Conway L. Carter, Jr., Anne and Conway were happily married for 57 years. Anne is survived by her three daughters, Tara Blazer, Elaine Chabot, and Holly Carter and by her two daughters-in-law, Maria Carter (Dave) and Janet Carter. She is also survived by her six grandchildren, Jessica Carter (Anna), Kali Carter O’Connor (Billy), Jeffrey Chabot (Marin), Nathan Chabot, Mark Blazer, and Colton Carter; and by her two great grandchildren, Liam and Julian O’Connor. Her sister, Shirley Colvin and brother, George (Catherine) Colvin also survive her along with her many nieces and nephews.
Anne was pre-deceased by her beloved son, Landon, and her two beloved sons-in-law, Paul Chabot and Paul Malec, along with her much loved siblings, Warren Colvin and Jean Colvin Amos.
Anne was recruited by the FBI upon high school graduation and moved to Washington, DC, where she met Conway. They moved to Adelphi, Maryland where she raised her family and enjoyed her many friends. Throughout her lifetime she enjoyed swimming and boating, camping, and traveling. She will be fondly remembered for the love and care she gave to her family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday March 25, 2023 at 11am at her childhood church, Walker’s United Methodist Church in Orange, Virginia. The service will be officiated by Pastor Richard Grendahl. Preddy Funeral Home of Orange is assisting the family with arrangements. She will be buried next to her husband and parents.
