Yvonne Frances Jennings Hendrix was born March 17, 1933 in Morehead, KY. She was preceded in death by her parents Ray Jennings and Wilma Pelfrey Jennings originally of Morgan County, (Elamton) Kentucky and later Alexandria and Culpeper, VA. Mrs. Hendrix was preceded in death by husbands Edward S. Mankin of Spotsylvania, and CMSGT (USAF) James Harold Hendrix of Lufkin, Texas.

Yvonne is survived by her sister Donna Harrison of Apex, NC, and brother Charles Jennings and wife Jean of Rockville, MD. She is also survived by her children, Patricia Mankin Herndon of Charlottesville, VA, Cathy Cree of Locust Grove, VA, and Michael Mankin and wife Debbie of Sommerville, SC., and by six grandchildren: Gayle Mitchell, Bethany Carver, Catherine Acors, David Branham, Mike Mankin, Julia Drum, ten great grandchildren, two nieces, and one nephew (deceased).

Born in Morehead, KY, Yvonne grew up in Alexandria, VA and graduated from George Washington High School class of 1952. Mrs. Hendrix spent much of her career working at the Virginia Employment Commission in Culpeper and Charlottesville, VA, and serving as a Magistrate for Culpeper County. Yvonne was also a marriage officiate.

Yvonne was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Reva, VA and taught Sunday School there.

Visitation is on Thursday, February 17 from 6:00 to 7:00 pm.at Preddy Funeral Home in Madison, Va. Funeral services will be Friday, February 18 at 11:00 am at Bethel Baptist Church, 6328 Hoover Rd., Reva, VA with burial following at Culpeper National Cemetery. There will be a reception at Bethel Baptist Church following the interment.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made in Yvonne’s memory to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

The family requests that all who attend services please wear a mask.
