William Morris Gallihugh Sr.           June 12, 2023

William Morris Gallihugh, Sr., 87, of Montford Road, Orange, died at his residence on Monday, June 12, 2023. William was born on January 16, 1936, in Charlottesville, Va., and was the son of the late Marvin W. Gallihugh and Norma Dennis Gallihugh. William is also predeceased by two sisters Mamie Seale and James, and Reva Breeden and David; also, four brothers Fred and Irene, Jesse and Beulah, George and Frances, and Bobby Gallihugh.

William is survived by his wife of 64 years Shirley McGhee Gallihugh of Orange; two sons William “Billy” M. Gallihugh Jr. and wife Tammy of Orange and David S. Gallihugh and wife Jennifer of Orange; two grandchildren Jillian Gallihugh and Stuart Gallihugh both of Orange; a sister-in-law Mary Dodson Gallihugh of Orange; and several nieces and nephews.

William was a member of the Oak Chapel Baptist Church and a retired HVAC contractor.

A funeral will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. at the Preddy Funeral Chapel, Orange with an interment in the Graham Cemetery, Orange. Pastor Steve Johnson will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Place, Charlottesville, Va. 22911, or the Oak Chapel Baptist Church, P. O. Box 25, Somerset, Va. 22972.
