William Harold “Squirrel” Ellis, Jr., went to be with the lord on Saturday July 17, 2021. Squirrel was born on July 6, 1977, to Mary Diane Ellis and the late William Harold Ellis, Sr.

Squirrel was a very loyal father, and husband he was a man that once you met him you would never forget him; and everyone loved his smile. He was always the life of the party and loved his music and loved to dance. Squirrel loved playing horseshoes and was a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys.

Squirrel was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Charles Davenport, and he served on the men’s choir. He was a hardworking man and worked for American Woodmark & Klockner’s Pentaplast, which was a totaled of 25 years. Squirrel never missed the opportunity to spoil his love of his life, his wife, and his beautiful daughter; making sure they never wanted for anything. He was a person that you couldn’t help but love and he will forever be missed by everyone.

He was preceded in death by his father William Harlod Ellis, Sr. and parental grandparents Alexander and Mildred Ellis, maternal grandparents Charles and Mary Dean; and stepson Eric “bug” Quarles, in-laws Levi & Frances Quarles and Lorraine Quarles.

He is survived by his wife Tawanna of 26 years and his daughter Aaliyah he affectionally called “baby girl”, his mother Diane, sister Mia Lewis (Corey) King George VA, Jessica Adkinson (Elexander) Hampton VA. In-laws Curtis Quarles (Angie) Gordonsville VA, Barbara Jamerson (Michael) Killeen Texas, Levi Quarles, Jr. (Priscilla) Gordonsville VA, Raymond Quarles Richmond, VA, Michael Quarles (Gina) Gordonsville VA, Anthony Quarles Gordonsville VA.

Squirrel was a wonderful godfather to all his god children and did not play when it came to them. He is survived by six God sons Rasheed Courtney, Catajo Cater, Raheem Carter, Quinton Ragland, Dequan Johnson, and Raquell Johnson. Three God daughters Briyanna Ragland, Tamara Davis, and Nia Carey.

Special cousins, Furmall Poindexter, Anthony Greene, and devoted friends Stacey Daniels, Maverick Carey, and a devoted sister in-law Michelle Quarles and special uncle Charles Dean.
