William David Butler {known by to all as David}, passed unexpectedly on Thursday, September 1 st 2022. Born on September 3rd 1965 in Prince George County Maryland, he was the son of the late Melissa Lee Pierson and Chester Bayard Butler of Louisa . He moved to Louisa, County which he has called home for the majority of his life in 1969. David attended Louisa County High School and graduated in 1984. Always a prolific learner he later pursued his dream of becoming a Welder. He was selected top of his class from J. Sargeant Reynolds CC for an internship with Day and Zimmermann at North Anna Power Station Dominion Energy where he was loved and known by all for his infectious smile, model leadership and for caring about each and every one that he worked with and for. He took pride in his work and he set an example to all on how to be an exemplary Son, Husband, Father, Uncle, brother-in-law and human being. His quiet dignity, his sense of morality, principals, work ethic and joyous generous heart was known by all who knew him. But moreover, David was about his wife, children and family. They always came first. It was the cornerstone of who he was. He always made effort and time for the big extended family he married into and was so proud to call them his own. He will be missed by all. David is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Alexandria Rebbecca White Butler of Bumpass, VA, His children, David Joseph Butler and his partner Lizzie Hatmaker of Mineral, VA, Grace Michel Butler and her partner Dakota Breeden of Louisa, VA. and Christopher Bayard Butler and his partner Kailey Stewart of Bumpass, VA. He is also survived by his sisters Cynthia “Cindy,” Rebecca Regner of Liberty Township, OH and her husband, Mark Regner, with nephews, Jonathan Regner and Jeremy Regner who he loved deeply and enjoyed his phone calls with. And sister Melissa “Missy,” Butler of Louisa Virginia. He leaves behind countless nieces and nephews all of whom he loved and treated as his own.

A visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday September 8, 2022 at Preddy Funeral Home in Gordonsville.
