Welford Courtney, 81 of Gordonsville, died peacefully in his sleep on January 6, 2023 at Louisa Health and Rehab Center. Born May 1, 1941 in Louisa, he was the son of the late Robert and Lillian Courtney. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Courtney and Ernest Courtney White formerly of Alexandria.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 59 years, Gwen Courtney, daughter, G. Maxine Courtney, son Welford “Pete” Courtney, grandchildren, Sean Courtney, Nicole Minter, his mother-in-law, Verna Ingram and several great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday January 17, 2023 at Culpeper National Cemetery with Pastor Robert Anthony officiating.
