Velma Mae Souder, 91 of Stanardsville, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at Greene Acres Nursing Home. She was born on October 16, 1932 to the late Charles Franklin Elliott and Ada Florence Leake Elliott. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George Thomas Souder, Sr. and a son, Louis Souder.

She is survived by her daughters, Loretta Lee of Stanardsville and Benita Grief of Delaware; son, Tommy Souder of Stanardsville; fourteen grandchildren, forty-two great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 pm on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Madison.
